Our Free Christian Ordination Program

Please Read This Entire Page Carefully Before Proceeding to the Application

Star Vision Ministries offers free Christian Ministerial Ordination to all Christians Called by God to His Ministry, regardless of gender.  Yes, we firmly believe that both men and women, if called by God, can and should be ordained into God's ministry, regardless of position or authority.  All applications for Ordination must be approved by The Board of Ministers and the Bishops before Ordination will be granted, so as you can see, this is not an instant process.  We do not believe that Ordination should be as easy as sending an e-mail and then receiving an e-mail reply saying you are Ordained.  Yes, there are places like that out there on the Internet and we respect them, but that’s just not our way.  Becoming Ordained in God’s Ministry is serious business.

So if you just want to become Ordained so you can perform a quick marriage and "cash in" on being a Minister, then I suggest you point your web browser to The Universal Life Church. Yes, the ULC will be happy to send you a very nicely worded e-mail that will proclaim that you are Ordained and can marry whomever you want … and it is legal in just about every state. You can even send them some money, once they Ordain you, and they will be happy to sell you some really nifty-looking credentials  (They call it a "donation", but they are sending you the papers for a set price, so it sure sounds like "selling" to me.). You can also get the same special treatment at The Universal Ministries. Both of these organizations will be very happy to have you join their family, and you can even join both of them if you want (and there are several other places out there that will do the same thing). You don’t have to be a Christian (in fact, most won’t even ask if you are), and you don’t have to ever want to use your Ordination again, once you have "cashed in" on the lucrative "business" that is the modern wedding ministry. Are these outlets legal? Yes. Will the weddings you conduct be legal? Yes. It is all 100% legal, at least in the United States, they have Ordained many thousands of people (maybe even millions), and we pray that they will happily continue along their profitable and prolific pathways because everybody needs a place where they can send good money to buy really nifty-looking Credentials, just so they can make "tons of money" performing countless marriages.  Yeah ... right.

However ...

... if you are a devout Christian and have received a serious Calling from God, then we may have the program for you.  Our Licensing and Ordination program, including all Credentials, costs you nothing.  If you are a serious Christian and you seriously want to serve God in His Ministry, but just can’t afford to spend four or five years in Seminary - not to mention thousands of dollars - and you don't feel that the "instant email ordination" process is for you, then we may have the program you're looking for.

“How Can I Become Ordained?”

The Ordination process is free but extensive.  Each of the following steps must be completed:

Once the members have prayed and voted, the final decision will be prayerfully rendered by Bishop Dennis, who will contact you with the decision.  If you are approved you will receive your Letter of Ordination, ID Card and your Ordination Certificate in the mail, complete with your license number and the seal of this Ministry.  Yes ... the mail.  You know ... the mail the Post Office brings you.  We do not ordain via e-mail.

Once you are ordained you may request any of the items from our Ministerial Catalog Page

Ordination with Star Vision Ministries is not automatic.  If you are not approved you will be given the reason or reasons and you will not be ordained by this Ministry.  The decision of the Bishop is final and without appeal.

As a candidate for Ordination you are welcome and encouraged to join and become active in our online message forum, located at http://forums.svministry.org.  Like everything else here, membership in the forum is free.  We are a friendly and loving Christian community and we welcome you.  Your willingness to join and communicate with our Ministry community is a sign that you really want to be a part of what we have to offer here.

And just for the record, while voluntary donations to this Ministry are always welcome, we will not try to solicit tithing or donations, nor will we ask you for any mandatory contributions.  This is a free Ministry.

And while we are on the subject of "Free" ...

We realize that we are one of the very few online ministries that provide free ministerial credentials.  As such, we also realize that some people will come here solely enticed by the prospect of those very same free papers, since nearly everybody else charges some form of fee or so-called "donation" for theirs.  This is one of the reasons we screen all applicants very carefully.  You see, we want to ordain only those people that are serious about a Calling from God to preach and teach the Word.  We don't charge you money for anything here, but we will definitely charge you time and effort.  You have to seriously want Ordination to succeed here.  It is not quick or easy to get through our program, and it is not all that easy to get past our Board of Ministers, but it is possible.  If you are serious about your Calling, you will arrive victorious on the other side of this process.

NOTICE:

If you have spam or junk filters in force on your e-mail account:  Once you submit your Application for Ordination you should pay careful attention to your spam or junk mail boxes for e-mails coming to you from members of this Ministry, especially Bishop Dennis (bishop@svministry.org), who will contact you upon his receipt of your Application.

And please keep in mind that failure to answer e-mails from the Board members during the Application deliberation process may be cause for the denial of your Application.  I cannot stress enough that open communication between you and Star Vision Ministries is absolutely vital during this process.

Let me say this another way ...

Failure to communicate during any part of the Ordination process may result in your application being denied. Once you receive any email from either the Ministry or any member of the Board of Ministers please acknowledge that you have received it, even if you cannot answer it immediately.

Finally, a couple of important points to think about when considering whether or not to apply for License and Ordination through Star Vision Ministries:

We ordain both men and women into God's Ministry, regardless of position, authority, or ministerial office.  If you have a problem with women in the Ministry then perhaps this is not the best place for you to apply.  Here both genders enjoy equal consideration.

We do not believe in the practice of "gay marriage" or "gay civil unions", nor do we believe that gay individuals should be ordained into God's Ministry.  This is not an attack against homosexual individuals.  We follow the advent of "Hate the sin, but love the sinner".  However, if you believe in gay marriage, or believe that gay individuals should be able to become ordained Ministers, then, again, maybe this is not the best place for you to apply.  There are many "Don't Ask -- Don't Tell" Ministry sites out there on the Internet.  Pick one.

All applicants must attest that they agree completely with our Statement of Doctrine before being granted License and Ordination by this Ministry.
